GRANDES ETAPES FRANÇAISES
has 10 premises, 9 of which are old properties
and chateaux, and 1 a farmhouse. All of them have
been developed as prestige hotels to form a unique
hotel and restaurant group in France.
A small family company founded
in 1956, GRANDES ETAPES FRANÇAISES offers
a range of refined establishments in which guests
enjoy the benefits of a 4 -star hotel in an outstanding
setting, reinforced by a sense of professionalism
acquired over more than fifty years' experience.
Grandes Etapes Françaises has been part
of the Relais & Chateaux group for over 20
years. Founded in 1975, the chain was born from
a merger between Chateaux-Hôtels de France
and Relais de Campagne, to which Relais Gourmands
has also been added.
In 1999, Grandes Etapes Françaises
joined another prestigious English and American
chain, Small Luxury Hotels (SLH). In the same
year, Chairman Pierre Traversac was also one of
the founders of the 'Arts et Histoire' hotel chain,
now known as 'Symboles de France'.
The buildings have been renovated
and fitted out with an eye to their prestigious
past and their many special features, each with
their own style and character. Only the Mas d'Artigny
(Côte d'Azur) is an entirely modern construction.
Providing peace, relaxation
and gourmet pleasures, all our hotels are situated
in large grounds or peaceful gardens. In the heart
of tourist regions rich in history, they all offer
a personal welcome, attentive service and inventive
cuisine that draws its inspiration from the region's
culinary heritage. They also have a range of leisure
facilities.
Refinement, the art of
making people feel welcome and respect for the
sense of place are the watchwords and values found
in all our GRANDES ETAPES FRANÇAISES.
